Product Description

The Texsport Alta Vista 3 Person Square Dome Tent is 8' X 7' X 48". It features 2 storage lockers for gear, and an exterior mud mat to help keep the inside clean. The Alta Vista has heavy-duty taffeta walls and rainfly which are polyurethane coated and has a rip-stop polyethylene floor. It comes with a two-pole pin and ring frame system with shock-corded poles, and durable speed clips to secure the tent to the frame. The Alta Vista features a "No-See-Um" mesh "D" style front door with a zippered storm flap, and "No-See-Um" mesh roof panels for extra ventilation. It comes with stakes and a carry/storage bag. The tents flame retardent meets C.P.A.I.-84 specifications.

Pretty decent tent for price

I found the tent relatively easy to put together, though it would have been a little easier for me if I had had someone to help with bending the poles and inserting into flaps.Pretty decent size. The only only problem I found was when trying to insert the ends of the poles into the grommet in the corner of the tent, the metal tip came off and this happened the first time I assembled the tent.

Poorly made - just hope it doesn't rain!

The positives about this tent are that it's relatively spacious (I'm 6'4" and often feel that tents are too short), has some convenient interior alcoves by the door flap and is relatively easy to set up.On the negative side, the materials and construction are poor. When I first set up the tent in my living room, one of the four plastic hooks that snap onto the support poles broke, rendering it useless. On the second occasion I set up the tent, a second hook broke rather than snap into place. The poles themselves are not of good quality, and the end-piece metal sleeves that connect the pole to the tent come off easily.The biggest problem with the tent it that it does not keep rain out. The design of the tent is such that the rainfly covers only the center of the tent and the door flap - the sides of the tent are open to rain. The materials used were waterproof, but the seam that separates the blue part of the tent wall from the white part is not sealed in a manner than keeps water out. Slowly at first I noticed water beading along the seam and then dripping off the tag that was sown into the seam. After a few more minutes, the entire seam was dripping water, making for an unpleasant night.To sum up: it's a cheap tent - don't use it in the rain.

No Rainfly replacement and now it it discontinued.

I bought a Grand Manan Tour tent two years ago. We absolutely love it. However last summer the rainfly deteriorated from the sun. I called Eureka and was told it was too new a tent to have replacements and to call Jan 2013. I was angered to find out in January 2013 that it was discontinued and there were no replacement rain fliesWarning: Don't count on any replacement fly.

Awesome tent!

This is a great tent-easy to set up considering the size. My husband and I did it easily. Lots of room and great air flow. Second night of use we had a horrific thunderstorm with 30mph wind gusts and torrential rain (this is at the beach, staked in sandy soil)....tent withstood it fine and we stayed perfectly dry. Only issue was that 2 of the vestibule zippers broke while unzipping. We called Eureka and are getting a new tent. In spite of that one glitch, I would buy this tent again and will recommend it to all.
